The Piccus Collection of Tibetan rugs

Category: Exhibitions

The ongoing show “Arts of Pacific Asia” 3-5 February 2012 in San Francisco includes a special exhibition of Tibetan rugs.

“This is great collection, perhaps the best Tibetan rug collection in the world” said Michael Craycraft to Jozan Magazine.

Robert Peter Piccus formed his collection during  the 80’s and 90’s where the Chinese authorities began to allow tourism in Tibet and foreign visitors discovered early, naturally dyed examples that had not earlier been seen in the West. Robert Peter Piccus will be present at the show signing his book “Sacred & Secular The Piccus Collection of Tibetan Rugs“.
