Michael Craycraft was a distinguished tribal rug dealer and a foremost expert on Baluch and Turkmen weavings.
In 2009, he organized the inaugural Antique Rug & Textile Show (ARTS) in San Francisco, contributing significantly to the appreciation of antique rugs and textiles.
In his career, Craycraft moved to Germany and collaborated with Dr. Ulrike Montigel of Galerie Arabesque in Stuttgart. He was a familiar presence at international rug fairs, including the Sartirana Textile Show in Italy.
Known for his deep knowledge and sometimes strong opinions, Craycraft was a genuine expert and connoisseur of tribal weavings. Jozan Magazine has published articles by Michael Craycraft.
Michael Craycraft passed away on May 10, 2015.

We are now counting down to the opening of the Antique Rug & Textile Show in San Francisco. The public part of this show will run from 19-21 October 2012 with an opening reception for registered ARTAA members Thursday 18 October at 2:30 pm.
