As a part of San Francisco Rug Week 12-17 October 2010 there will be a joint fund-raiser in a cooperation between the Antique Rug & Textile Art Association (ARTAA) and de Young Museum. This event will take place Friday 15 October from 5-7pm at the de Young Museum.
“It will include a private showing of 10 rarely seen specially selected pieces from the museum’s collections that we feel will appeal to the October Rug Week participants as well as a viewing of the Textile Departments current show, To Dye For: A World Saturated in Color. This exhibition is a selection of different resist-dyed textiles from cultures around the world” says ARTAA’s Ben Banayan to Jozan Magazine.
The admission fee is $40 (standard) and $25 for members of TAC (Textile Arts Council), Art Museums of San Francisco and ARTAA.
“Those who would like to participate are encouraged to RSVP as soon as possible with me” says Ben Banayan.
