The San Francisco Rug Week 12-17 October include the Antique Rug & Textile Show at Motel Capri, an opening reception and lectures at Krimsa Gallery, Tribal SF 2010 at Fort Mason, a Rug & Textile Evening at the De Young Museum and several other rug events.
Among them the exhibition “Ersari Main Carpets, an exhibition of Central Asian weavings from the Middle Amu Darya” arranged by Carpets of the Inner Circle, 444 Jackson St., San Francisco. This event includes an opening reception and lecture by SFBARS president, Peter Poullada, 14 October 7pm.
Thomas Cole, Tribal Rugs & Textile Art, 2001 Huckleberry Rd., San Rafael CA, will hold an exhibition “Ancient Imprints – Turkmen Textile Art” from 9 October – 12 December 2010. The opening reception will be Saturday 16 October 6:00 pm – 9:30 pm.
James Blackmon Gallery, 2140 Bush St. 1, San Francisco, will hold an exhibition “Andean Textile Traditions: Pre-Columbian to 19th century weavings” from 11 October through 18 October 2010.
