Christie’s, founded in 1766 in London, is a world-renowned auction house specializing in fine art, antiques, jewelry, luxury goods, and collectible carpets. Christie’s holds dedicated carpet auctions twice a year as part of their “Art of the Islamic and Indian Worlds” sales in London. These auctions feature exceptional antique hand-woven rugs and carpets dating from the 15th to the mid-20th century.
While London serves as the primary venue for these specialized carpet sales, Christie’s also includes rugs and carpets in broader decorative arts and Islamic art auctions in other locations, such as New York and Paris, throughout the year. Link: www.christies.com.
