The selection includes results from Grogan & Company’s ‘The Kaffel Collection’ 21 January 2024 and Bonhams ‘Donald Gant Collection’ 18 January 2024.

Grogan & Company ‘The Kaffel Collection’ 21 January 2024. Lot 204. A Salor Wedding Trapping, Central Asia, Early 19th Century, 2 ft. 8 in. x 7 ft. 6 in. Estimate: $50,000 – $100,000. Sold $64,000. Provenance: Sotheby’s New York, 13 April 1995, Lot 82. Condition according to Sothebys 1995: Minor partial sides, two small rewoven areas, two repaired slits in upper right corner, overcast sides, partially oxidized browns and minor losses to lower end.

Sold for US$28,160. Provenance: Christie’s Lot 40, 21 April 2015. Condition according to Christie’s 2015: Light even overall wear, scattered repair and repiling, sides rewoven.
