The top lot in this auction is lot 140, a 16th century Selendi ‘Bird’ carpet woith an estimate of GBP 250,000 – GBP 350,000. This carpet is formerly loaned to both the Detroit Museum of Fine Arts and the Museum of Islamic Art in Berlin. Another early hightlight includes lot 120, a 17th-century Safavid Isfahan gallery carpet, formerly part of a Japanese museum collection. The estimate of the Isfahan carpet is GBP 60,000 – GBP 80,000.
