Rippon Boswells next auction “Vok Collection Selection 3” will take place Saturday 25 March 2017 at 15.00. This is the last part of the sales of Dr Ignazio Voks collection of flatweaves and textiles from Uzbekistan, Anatolia, Persia and the Caucasus. The first and second sales took place in April 2015 and March 2016.
Selection 3 includes 94 lots of suzanis from Uzbekistan, and kilims and flatweaves from Persia, Anatolia and the Caucasus. Previews are open for the public Tuesday 21 March through Friday 24 March, daily from 14.00-19.00, and on the day of the auction Saturday 25 March from 9.00-12.00.
Ignazio Vok was born in Ljubljana, Slovenia in 1938 and studied architecture in Munich and Venice where he developed an interest in the art of Asia, Africa and the Islamic cultures. He spent more than forty years compiling his collection of the finest suzanis, kilims and flatweaves.
