Van Ham will hold their next carpet specialist auction “Carpets & Tapestries” 5 December 2014. Their viewing exhibition will be open for the public 30 November – 2 December 2014.
One of the highlights is a small 18th century silk carpet from Xinjiang. This carpet was likely produced as a covering for a kang belonging to a noble lady from the imperial court according to Van Ham. Other highlights include a “Siebenbürger” rug from the 17th or 18th centuries with an estimate of 10,000-12,000 EUR and 19th century Bakshayesh carpet with an estimate of 7,000 – 8,000 EUR.
