The Textile Museum, Washington DC, has just announced an interim director W. Richard West.
He has been founding director of the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of the American Indian for 17 years, where he retired in 2007.
His background includes work as an attorney and as a trustee at several cultural organisations and he is also a past chair of the board of the American Association of Museums.
Over the next year, The Textile Museum anticipates establishing an international search committee with GW for the joint director of The Textile Museum and the George Washington University Museum.
