This September will be a great time for rug collectors to visit Europe. Start visiting Stuttgart and Nagel’s auction ‘Rugs & Carpets, Ethnographic Art’ 9 September 2014. Then head for Milan and attend the 10th edition of Sartirana Textile Show 10-14 September in Sartirana Lomellina near Milan. After that head for Vienna where Dorotheum and Austria Auction Company, will hold their carpets auctions.
On the 15th of September, to coincide with the ICOC there, three esteemed UK dealers, James Cohen, Owen Parry and Aaron Nejad will be putting on a one day show of antique rugs, carpets and textiles at the gallery of Safran & Cie.
Sartirana Textile Show began Thursday 13 September at 6 pm and as usual the quality of the exhibited antique rugs and textiles is high. Sartirana is a very special fair because of it’s relaxed atmosphere and the location in the countryside in a small town circa 100 km from Milano.
