The George Washington University Museum and The Textile Museum will host a prayer rug exhibition ‘Prayer and Transcendence’ 18 February – 1 July 2023 in Washington DC.

Mid-17th century Islamic carpets will hang side by side with depictions in Dutch painting at the Metropolitan Museum from 11 March through 11 June 2014. As early as the 14th century, images of carpets woven in primarily Anatolia and Persia began to appear in European paintings.
