The Danish Rug Society (Selskabet for Orientalsk Tæppekunst) promotes understanding and appreciation of oriental rug art. Activities include lectures and events where members share and explore rugs from their collections. Membership is open to anyone interested in rugs and textiles, regardless of expertise. Both private collectors and professionals are welcome, with the society avoiding any commercial rug trade involvement.

The Danish Rug Society’s recent meeting 28 March 2019 was inspired by late Peter Willborgs interest for Persian nomadic rugs and especially his book Chahar Mahal va Bakhtiari, Workshop and Nomadic Rugs of Western Persia.
