The Joseph V. McMullan Award for Scholarship and Stewardship in Islamic Rugs & Textiles is a esteemed recognition in the field of Islamic art and culture. This award is named after Joseph V. McMullan, a scholar and collector of Islamic rugs and textiles.
The annual Volkmann-Treffen 2014 will take place 24-26 October 2014 in Berlin. This year’s theme is “Tents” inspired by the famous 17th century Ottoman tent exhibited in the Turkish Chamber of Dresden Armory since 2010. The meeting will begin with the evening opening of the Carpet Galleries of the Museum für Islamische Kunst.
