The Austrian Society for Textile-Art-Research (TKF – Die Gesellschaft zur Förderung der Textil-Kunst-Forschung) was established in Vienna in 1982 as a non-profit organization. With over 40 years of existence, it is one of the world’s oldest societies dedicated to exploring textiles as an art form.
The TKF aims to deepen research and knowledge about textile art and share its findings with a broader public. Over the decades, this mission has been fulfilled through international symposia and conferences. Additionally, the society has published numerous works, organized exhibitions, and supported museum projects.
The TKF collaborates closely with the International Conference on Oriental Carpets (ICOC), museums, and academic institutions.
