Skinner’s next special carpet auction ‘Fine Oriental Rugs & Carpets’ will take place in Boston Sunday 28 September 2014 at 2.00 pm. Their preview exhibition will be open for the public Friday 26 September from 2.00 pm to 7.00 pm, Saturday 27 September from 12 pm to 5.00 pm, and on the day of the auction Sunday 28 September from 9.00 am to 12.30 pm.

Skinner’s carpet auction includes more than 300 lots of antique rugs, carpets, and textiles from the Caucasus, Persia, Anatolia, India, Central Asia, and China. According to Skinner Auctioneers many of the highlights of the auction come from estates, private collections, or museums.

Lot 22, a Malayer Rug, Northwest Persia, early 20th century, 6 ft. 6 in. x 4 ft. 4 in. Estimate $1,200-1,500

Their online catalogue was released for a couple of days ago.
