Skinner’s next carpet specialist sale ‘Fine Oriental Rugs & Carpets’ will take place Saturday 11 May 2011 at 12.30pm in Boston. Preview times are Thursday 9 May 2pm-5pm, Friday 10 May 2p-7pm and Saturday 11 May 9am-11am.

Their May specialist carpet auction includes Caucasian, Persian, Anatolian and Turkmen antique rugs and carpets, along with textiles from these regions. The auction includes almost 50 room-sized carpets of different type.

Bordjalou Kazak Rug, Southwest Caucasus, second half 19th century (Lot 125, Estimate $5,000-$7,000)
Bahkshaish Carpet, Northwest Persia, last quarter 19th century (Lot 138, Estimate $15,000-$20,000)
Beshir Prayer Rug, West Turkestan, first half 19th century (Lot 117, Estimate $15,000-$20,000)
