New England Rug Society (NERS) arranges an interesting series of virtual lectures by renowned speakers. On 18 March 2023 longtime NERS member Gerard Paquin will hold a virtual lecture ‘Silk and Wool: Crosscurrent Influences in Turkish Rugs and Textiles’.

The lecture will document the influence of Ottoman textile designs on Turkish rugs. It will also examine the impact of rug design on textiles, and the use of both as architectonic elements, in tent as well as town.
