The “Rug and Textile Appreciation Mornings” are a longstanding series of educational programs hosted by The George Washington University Museum and The Textile Museum in Washington, D.C. In the sessions collectors and experts discuss textile topics and display examples from their personal holdings.

A large number of the former “Rug and Textile Appreciation Mornings” from 2007-2019 are documented by text and photos by John R. Howe. His longstanding efforts were awarded in 2015 where he received the Joseph V. McMullan Award.
