Netherhampton Salerooms held one of their Oriental rug auctions 17 May 2012 in Salisbury, UK. This auction included approximately 430 Oriental rugs and textiles and the result list has just been released by June Barrett.

Lot 1954, a Kizil Ayak Turkmen chuval second half 19th century. Estimate 1.500 – 2.000 GBP. Sold for 3.200 GBP.

Circa 57% of the lots in this carpet auction were sold. Most of them, 230 lots, for a price below 1.000 GBP. Around 15 lots reached a hammer price of more than 1.000 GBP.

Lot 2095, a rug by the Baharlu tribe of the Khamseh Confederation. Estimate 1.500 – 2.000 GBP. Sold for 2.000 GBP

The carpet department of Netherhampton Salerooms consists of June Barrett, Ian Bennett and Gary Shepherd. Their Oriental rug auctions are held five times a year with upwards 500 lots in each sale including Persian, Anatolian, Turkmen, and Caucasian rugs and carpets and Oriental textiles.
