Bonhams auction including Persian room-size carpets

Bonhams auction “Period Design” 10 July 2012 in London includes 44 rug and carpet lots. Some twenty of these rugs and carpets are Persian room-size carpets including Heriz, Tabriz, Mahal, Kirman, Isfahan and Kashan carpets. The auction also includes three large room-size carpets from India and a few tribal Persian, Turkmen and Caucasian rugs.

Opening hours for the viewing exhibition are Sunday 8 July from 11.00-15.00, Monday 9 July from 9.00-18.30, Tuesday 10 July from 9.00-10.30 and the carpet auction session begins Tuesday 10 July at 12.30.

Lot 342, a Tabriz carpet, North West Persia, 383cm x 285cm Estimate: £700 – 1,000
Lot 344, a Heriz carpet, North West Persia, 346cm x 256cm Estimate: £400 – 600
Lot 349, a Heriz carpet, North West Persia, 380cm x 270cm Estimate: £500 – 700
Lot 358, a Kirman carpet, South East Persia, 411cm x 300cm Estimate: £500 – 700
Lot 364, a Kashan carpet, Central Persia, 433cm x 323cm Estimate: £1,000 – 2,000
