Oriental Carpets, Textiles and Tapestries at Dorotheum 16 September 2014

Dorotheum will hold their next special carpet auction ‘Oriental Carpets, Textiles and Tapestries’ 16 September 2014 at Palais Dorotheum in Vienna. The auction starts at 11.00 giving you a couple of hours before another Vianna carpet auction ‘Fine Oriental Rugs III‘ by Austria Auction Company starts at 14.00 at Novomatic Forum. Vienna is also the base for the ICOC Vienna-Budapest Tour so expect to meet a lot of rug collectors in the Austrian capital these days.

Dorotheum’s public viewings take place from 11 September to 16 September where the auction begins. Their auction  includes more than 200 lots and among them interesting antique Persian, Caucasian, Anatolian, Turkmen and Chinese rugs and carpets.

Lot 89. Ersari torba, South Turkestan, c. 44 x 150 cm, about 1880. Estimate EUR 2,600 to 3,000
Lot 76. Bakhtiar, West Central Persia (Iran), c. 500 x 250 cm, about 1900. Estimate EUR 10,000 to 12,000
Lot 44. Karachov, Southwest Caucasus, c. 226 x 166 cm, end of the 19th century. Estimate EUR 3,200 to 3,600

Lot 33. Mujur prayer rug, Central Anatolia (Turkey), c. 170 x 120 cm, about 1800. Estimate EUR 5,000 to 6,000
Lot 20. Lori Pambak, Southwest Caucasus, c. 230 x 156 cm, end of the 19th century. Estimate EUR 3,000 to 4,000
