The Oriental Rug and Textile Society of Great Britain has organised a lecture by Bruce Healy ‘A Survey of Northwest Persian Garden Carpets’. The lecture will take place Tuesday 25 October 2022 at 19.00 in University Women’s Club in Mayfair London. Non-members are welcome to join the event for a small fee.
Beginning with the Jaipur Garden carpet, a late 16th or early 17th Safavid carpet woven in Kerman, Bruce Healy will trace the development of the NW Persian Garden Carpet design as it evolved from the late 17th century to the early 19th century.
In 2007 Bruce Healy began doing scholarly research on classical Persian carpets, specializing in the early carpets of Khorasan and the 18th century chahar bagh carpets of NW Persia. He focuses on using microphotography to analyse and document the structure of the carpets in each group.
