Nagel’s auction “Rugs and Carpets, Islamic Art” will take place 22 March 2011 in Stuttgart. The auction includes 291 rugs, carpets and textiles and among them 50 pieces from the collection of late Dr. Jonathan Broido.
Lot 26. Tekke main carpet, Turkmenistan, mid 19th century from the collection of Jonathan Broido. Lot 28. Tekke Torba face, Turkmenistan, 1st half 19th century from the collection of Jonathan Broido. Lot 37. A rare Chuval face, probably Pseudo-Chaudor, Turkmenistan, 1st half 19th century from the collection of Jonathan Broido. Lot 5. Fachralo Kazak with plaited upper end, Caucasus, circa 1900/1910. Lot 134. Bakhtiari, West Persia, circa 1930. Lot 162. Yomut Asmalyk, Turkmenistan, 18th/19th ct. Lot 166. Uzbek Torba, Kazakhstan/Central Asia. In Hans Elmbys exhibition "Antique Turkmen Carpets" at the 8th I.C.O.C. in Philadelphia 1996, the Torba was presented with Dr. Jon Thompson date of circa 1850 or earlier. Lot 228. Small Yürük rug, East Anatolia.
