LARTA The London Antique Rug and Textile Art Fair will take place Tuesday 25 to Sunday 30 January 2022 after the annual event in 2021 was held online only. Eighteen dealers from the UK and Europe will exhibit carpets, rugs and textiles on the mezzanine of The Decorative Fair at Evolution London, Battersea Park.
Exhibitors
LARTA is the UK’s specialist event for antique carpets, vintage rugs and textile art. LARTA 2022 exhibitors include Aaron Nejad (organizer), Alberto Levi, Antique Décor, Carpet Restoration Studio, Emily’s House London, Gideon Hatch, Anthony Hazeldine, Bakhtiyar, Hakiemie Rugs, Ian Shaw, James Cohen, Marilyn Garrow, Oriental Rug Shop, Owen Parry, Peta Smyth, Phil Bell, The Oriental Rug Gallery and Villa Rosemaine.
Among the eighteen exhibitors are three newcomers exhibiting at LARTA for the first time. Alberto Levi Gallery from Milan, Phil Bell Antique Oriental Rugs from Manchester and Bakhtiyar from London. Alberto Levi has been trading antique rugs and textiles for 30 years and has built an excellent reputation. Phil Bell Antique Oriental Rugs is a new dealer, as Bell only started dealing relatively recently having had a passion for nomadic and antique village rugs for some 30 years. Bakhtiyar is a third generation family owned business specializing in decorative antique Persian carpets.
Antique rugs and textiles
At LARTA 2022 the eighteen dealers will offer rugs and textiles from Persia, India, China, Japan, Central Asia, Anatolia and the Caucasus, as well as from Europe, Africa and the Americas. There will be a huge range of carpets, rugs, textiles and trappings for sale, including room size decorative carpets, kilims, ikats, shawls, runners, suzanis, tribal rugs, horse rugs, bagfaces, prayer rugs, hangings, costumes and more.
