Impressions from the Capri Show

Category: Fairs and conferences

The Antique Rug & Textile Show at Motel Capri in San Francisco 18-21 October 2012 was well organized. According to some of the dealers business was as usual and dealer to dealer business was the main business. The visiting buyers were mostly regular collectors with no big spendors.

Jozan Magazine has also asked Tim Steinert, editor of Carpet Collector, about his impressions from the show.

“The Arts in the Capri was very relaxed and in my eyes quite successful. 38 dealers from around the world came to San Francisco to sell their collectors pieces to the US collector community. They were looking for special items, like small bag faces in perfect condition or with unique designs Also fragments and small rugs were in demand. The US people seem to love small things with a special appeal – I did not see too many bigger pieces and no oversizes” said Tim Steinert.
