Travel map 300x336 - Time to register for the ICOC TourThe ICOC Conference Tour 2019 ‘Carpets and Collections of the Alpine Area’ from 8-14 September 2019 is open for registration until the end of April 2019. This tour will take participants to little known museums, monasteries and royal palaces in the mountain regions of Bavaria, Tyrol and Northern Italy. The Austrian Society for Textile-Art Research (TKF) is the organizer of the conference tour.

Sunday, 8 September
Munich
The Museum Fuenf Kontinente
The director of the Museum Dr. Uta Werlich will address and welcome the ICOC-participants.
Dr. Bruno Richtfeld: Introduction to the history and the collections of the Museum
Michael Buddeberg: The Chinese carpets of the 17th-19th century in the Preetorius-Collection
Private viewing of the Chinese Carpets of the Preetorius-Collection followed by the bus transfer from Munich to Innsbruck

Monday, 9 September
Innsbruck
• Museum of Tyrolean Regional Heritage
Special exhibition of the historical “Defregger-Teppiche”
• Court Church (Schwarz-Mander-Kirche)
• Imperial Hofburg Innsbruck
Special exhibition of rugs and textiles of a diverse private collection (TKF) “Spanning the Mediterranean to the Caspian Seas” lecture programme in the Gothic vaults

Tuesday, 10 September
Schwaz
• Museum der Voelker: exhibition of ethnological textiles (TKF) “Woven and embroidered stories. Textiles from private collections” lecture programme
• Seegrube Restaurant, Nordkette: cable car to the top of the mountain (outdoor programme, depending on weather)

Wednesday, 11 September 
Brixen
• Hofburg Brixen, The Diocesan Museum
Permanent exhibition of liturgical vestments and textiles special display of so called “Bargello textiles” guided tour of the historic cloister
Bruneck
• South Tyrolean Folklore Museum
Visit of the open-air museum displaying historic local textile production
• Lecture programme in the evening (venue at the hotel)

Thursday, 12 September
Bozen
• South Tyrol Museum of Archaeology
Tour and private viewing of Oetzi the Iceman and his artefacts
• Monastery Muri-Gries: viewing of medieval tapestries
• Merkantil-building: opening reception of the exhibition “Azerbaijan Flatweaves. Unveiling Textile Treasures from a South Tyrolean Private Collection”

Friday, 13 September
Traunstein, Bavaria
• Klosterkirche, Kulturzentrum
“The Oriental Ambassadors Collection — 2000 Years of Textile Art” by Silke and Roland Weise exclusive event for participants of the ICOC-Alpine Tour
• Evening: return to Munich

Saturday, 14 September
Departure back home
