The International Conference on Oriental Carpets (ICOC) and the Austrian Society for Textile-Art-Research (TKF) have just added more exhibitions to their ‘ICOC Vienna-Budapest Tour’ 15-21 September 2014.
‘Just this week we were able to add some more exhibitions to our ambitious event. The biggest show ever of ethnological textiles in Austria Inspiration Textil will be held in the prime location of the Kuenstlerhaus in the centre of Vienna. Furthermore we succeeded to stimulate an exhibition on Armenian Rugs and Carpets’ said ICOC’s Peter Bichler to Jozan Magazine.
The preliminary programme for the ICOC Vienna-Budapest Tour has recently been updated and includes:

‘Classical Carpets from Austrian Collections’ and bus to the exhibition on ‘Armenian Rugs and Carpets’ incl. lecture

Exhibition of tribal textiles in connection with modern textile art ‘Inspiration Textil’ at the Kuenstlerhaus

Evening programme at the MAK with key-note speaker Michael Franses. Lecture programme and viewing of the newly designed carpet section

Private visit to the Treassure Chamber or Papyrusmuseum
Natural History Museum. Lectures and viewing of the Hallstatt Textiles. Dr.A.Kern, Dr.K.Grömer, Dr.B.Barbatti

The registration opened a few weeks ago and nearly fifty participants have already registered for the ICOC Vienna-Budapest Tour. The ICOC Tour has a strictly limited number of participants so you better make your registration now before it is to late. Also pay attention to the pre-ICOC Tour to Lombardia 10-15 September organized by Stefano Ionescu. This Italy tour also includes a visit to Sartirana Textile Show.
