Birjand rugs are also knowned internationally as Moud rugs (Mood rugs). Most of the rugs in the region are woven in the villages around Birjand.
Recently we have re-organized the gallery and included new images and rug types.
Most of the images in the educational rug gallery are published with permission from auction houses, dealers, collectors and museums. The rug images includes both antique rugs and carpets - and common commercial rugs in trade. Age and origin are stated from the source without any adjustment.
