Skinner’s next special carpet auction ‘Fine Oriental Rugs & Carpets’ will take place 22 March 2014 in Boston and includes 279 carpet lots. This auction is Lawrence Kearney’s first auction as Director of Fine Oriental Rugs & Carpets. His debut with Skinner will feature a selection of fine carpets from New England homes, as well as an assortment of fine and antique textiles, including Kashmir shawls, Ottoman textiles, and Central Asian embroideries.

Skinner’s preview exhibition will be open for the public 20-22 March. Skinner invites to an event Friday 21 March at the Skinner Boston Gallery where Lawrence Kearney, Department Director, will present highlights from the ‘Fine Oriental Rugs and Carpets’ auction.

Lot 85. Heriz Carpet, Northwest Persia, late 19th century. Estimate $4,000 – $5,000
Lot 59. Kazak Rug, Southwest Caucasus, early 20th century. Estimate $2,000 – $2,500
Lot 16. Kazak Rug, South Caucasus, third quarter 19th century. Estimate 1,000 – $1,200
