Austria Auction Company’s auction ‘Fine Antique Oriental Rugs XXXVIII’ will take place Saturday 21 September 2024 at 4pm. The auction includes 218 lots and among them fine antique Caucasian, Persian, Turkmen, Anatolian, Chinese rugs and more.
The highlight of the sale is lot 181, an 17th century Persian or Indian Garden Carpet with an estimate of € 150.000 – 200.000. ‘It is one of the highlights of any auctioneer’s career to be able to offer such an impressively beautiful and significant carpet. This carpet is of the utmost rarity, executed in wonderful colors, and despite the abundance of its design elements, it impresses with an exemplary clarity of drawing.’ said Udo Langauer to Jozan Magazine.
Among the carpets on sale is also a very large palace sized Ushak carpet 1140 x 647 cm, lot 218, from the second half of the 19th century or before.
The preview at Palais Breuner in Vienna will take place Wednesday 18 September to Friday 20 September from 11am to 5pm, and Saturday 21 September from 11am to 4pm.
