The Antique Rug & Textile Show ( ARTS ) will take place 15-26 October 2009 at Motel Capri, 2015 Greenwich Street, San Francisco. Close to 40 dealers at this fair will exhibit their top collections of tribal antique rugs and textiles. In conjunction with ARTS there will be more events in local galleries.
DeWitt Mallary
In conjunction with ARTS, DeWitt Mallary, a well known connoisseur of Baluch group carpets, will hold an exhibition and sale of assorted rugs and textiles from his collection at the gallery of Peter Pap, 470 Jackson Street, San Francisco, from Saturday 17 October through Saturday 24 October , 2009. This exhibition will feature an assortment of material from around the weaving world, including items from Europe, Turkey, Iran, and Central Asia, in addition to some Baluch group pieces.


“Having worked with Peter Pap in a consulting role some years ago, I was delighted that his gallery was available for me to present some pieces during the ARTS show. I look forward to seeing many old friends, and making some new ones,” Mallary said, continuing “I hope to be able to contribute to general consciousness-raising of our under-appreciated art form.”
Occidental Carpet Palace and Gardens 21 October
On Wednesday 21 October, 2009, from noon and onwards the San Francisco Bay Area Rug Society will sponsor a visit to the Occidental Carpet Palace and Gardens of renowned Bay Area collector, Jim Dixon.
