Christies coming specialist antique rug and carpet sale ‘Oriental Rugs & Carpets’ will take place Tuesday 23 April 2013 at 10.30 am in King Street, London. The preview exhibition will be open for the public Friday 19 April 9 am – 4:30 pm, Saturday 20 April 12 pm – 5 pm, Sunday 21 April 11 am – 5 pm and Monday 22 April 9 am – 4:30 pm.
Christies auction includes 205 lots and their catalogue is online. This auction includes several very old Anatolian Ushaks, Lotto’s, and Transylvanian rugs and carpets. It also includes quite a few fine silk rugs and Persian pictorial carpets. The selection also includes Chinese, East Turkestan and antique Caucasian rugs.
