Sarah Haberkern
Sarah Haberkern will speak at Karma.

Sarah Haberkern, Art Antik Stuttgart, will held a lecture about carpets in paintings Sunday 6 June 7-8 pm as a part of the Karma lecture program.

She will give the visitors an overview of carpets in well-known renaissance paintings and then speak about more un-known paintings with carpets by the Netherlandish followers of Caravaggio.

“Most of the examples I have seen is depictions of Ushaks carpets, showing how fashionable they were at the time”, she says to Jozan Magazine.

She will also try to answer the question why depiction of carpets after a long period of popularity suddenly disappeared from paintings.

Location: Kensington Antique Rug Mercantile Association, 202 Kensington Church Street, London.
