Next Bruun Rasmussen auction including carpets

Bruun Rasmussen’s next international auction with rugs and carpets will take place 4-7 June 2013. The exact date for the carpet session is not known yet but the preview exhibition is open for the public 30 May through 4 June in Bredgade, Copenhagen. Bruun Rasmussen holds four international auctions each year which include antique rugs, carpets and textiles.

“The upcoming sale no. 841 includes a wide variety of antique and contemporary rugs, carpets and tapestries” says Bruun Rasmussen’s carpet expert Henrik Schleppegrell to Jozan Magazine.

A Transylvanian prayer rug, Central Anatolia. A classical plain brick-red field with a pale olive-green mihrab arch containing serrated leaves and polychrome flowerheads, top with stylised tulips. 17/18th century. 130 x 98 cm. Est. 2000-2900.- Euro.
Perepedil prayer rug, Caucasus. Dated and with initials at the top of the prayer niche. Ca. 1900. Estimate 1,600-2,000 Euro
