Next Bruun Rasmussen auction including carpets

Bruun Rasmussen Auction,  holds four annual international auctions including rugs and carpets. These traditional auctions take place in February, June, September and December. Their department in Bredgade will be open in connection with the four annual previews and auctions.

Their next auction “International paintings, antiques and modern art”, which includes antique rugs and carpets, will take place from 18-27 September 2012. The carpet lots will be sold 19 September and the viewing exhibition is open for the public 13-16 September.

Bruun Rasmussen’s catalogue has not been released yet but among the offerings are interesting antique Caucasian, Turkmen and Persian rugs and carpets.

A dated antique Marasali prayer rug, Caucasus. A finely knotted and colourful classical Marasali with the charateristic boteh design on a blue field surrounded by anteater main border. Dated 1303. 19th century. 154 x 107 cm. Est. Euro. 8000.-
An antique Serapi/Heriz carpet, Northwest Persia. Classical geometrical medallion design. 19th century. 387 x 300 cm. Est. Euro 3300.-
An antique Tekke main carpet, Turkmenia. Design of Tekke main guls and Gurbaghe minor guls, main border with a wide variation of ornaments and original kelim ends. 19th century. 250/293 x 195 cm. Est. 3300.- Euro
A “Petag” Tabriz carpet, Northwest Persia. A classical highly decorative all over design of palmettes, entwined branches made in soft pastel colors. Most likely made by the Petag company. Early 20th century. 370 x 320 cm. Est. Euro 13000.-
A fine pair of Keshan rugs, Persia. Design of palmettes, rosettes, flowers and foliage on an ivory field. Ivory center field of wool otherwise silk. Rare to find as a couple. Early 20th century. Both C. 205 x 126 cm.(2) Est. Euro. 13000.-
