Bonhams Edinburgh auctions including carpets

Bonhams auctions in Edinburgh “Hensol, The Property of a Gentleman” 24 October 2012 and “Killochan Castle, The Property of Prinzessin Viola von Hohenzollern” 7 november 2012 both include Oriental and antique rugs and carpets.

Among the 13 carpet lots offered at the auction 24 October are two late 19th century pictorial Tabriz rugs, lot 180 and lot 186, with estimates between 2.000 – 3.000 £. Viewings take place 21-23 October.

The auction 7 November includes 11 carpet lots and among them three oversize Persian carpets. Two Meshed carpets, lot 173 and lot 175, and a very large Sarouk carpet, lot 174. Viewings take place 4-6 November and Bonhams catalogue is online.

Bonhams 7 November 2012: Lot 175, a Meshed carpet 525cm x 365cm (17’3″ x 12′). Estimate: £2,500 – 3,500
