Bonhams – Antique and Vintage Carpet Collection by Nazmiyal

A special carpet auction will take place in New York 4 April 2016 at 13:00 EDT where Bonhams will sell rare and decorative carpets from Nazmiyal’s coveted collection.

The sale will include early rugs such as a 17th century Persian vase carpet, a 16th century Cairene, an Early Mughal rug, and will also feature carpets by designers such as Josef Hoffmann, Emile Ruhlmann, Leleu and Gavin Morton. One of the highlights of this sale will undoubtedly be a rug that was personally owned by Sigmund Freud. Rounding out this collection are the vintage Moroccan rugs, mid century modern Swedish carpets from Marta Mass Fjetterstrom, as well as Pop Art Tapestry rugs by Roy Lichtenstein.

Lot 1151. AN OTTOMAN CAIRENE LONG CARPET. Cairo, Egypt size approximately 11ft. 9in. x 21ft. 6in. US$ 100,000 – 200,000
