Vienna, Austria’s capital, has a selection of antique rug dealers worth visiting if you come to this gorgeous city.
Langauer Textile Art, is located in a warehouse outside Vienna. The owner Udo Langauer is sharing this warehouse with his father Fritz Langauer, Oritop. Udo is a frequent exhibitor at major antique rug fairs in Europe and America. “I will also exhibit at the Antique Rug & Textile Show in San Francisco this autumn” he said to Jozan magazine.

Though also dealing with antique Caucasian rugs, Anatolian rugs, Persian rugs, kilims and tribal textiles his speciality is Turkmen rugs. His publication “Turkmen Collection 2011” published in June 2011 shows his dedication and special interest for tribal Turkmen rugs.

In the city center near Stefan’s Dom you will find Adil Besim KG. Their store is located at Graben 30, in the heart of Vienna’s most active shopping area. Their offers include high end modern and contemporary carpets and also exclusive antique rugs and carpets.
“My father demands that even an antique carpet must be in an excellent condition” said Omar Besim, the manager, to Jozan Magazine. “Times are not easy for rug dealers but high-end antique carpets still attract serious buyers” he continued.

Another esteemed antique and tribal rug dealer in the central city of Vienna is Herbert Bieler, Seltene Orientteppiche, Sonnenfelsgasse 11. Herbert Bieler will be exhibitor at Sartirana Textile Show in September.
