Condition Report: The pile is low overall generally resting just at the knot collar showing the knot bars with some uneven areas of wear where the structure is revealed, as shown in the illustration. There are a series of lazy lines throughout which are contemporaneous to the original production and are a natural weaving phenomenon. There are some areas of discolouration, including a stain to the yellow palmette in the lower right border and the rug may benefit from a professional clean. The side cords are lacking in some areas with some associated small losses to the outer barber pole minor stripe and would require securing. There are losses to the kilim finish at one end with a small loss to the lower left corner but the original kilim finish is mostly retained at the other end. Estimate 18,000 – 25,000 GBP.
