The Antique Rug & Textile Show 2011 in San Francisco also includes a special exhibition of Turkmen bags. This exhibition, which takes place in room 306 at the Motel Capri, is entitled “Perspectives on Collecting: Turkmen Bags”.
Three major collectors, and among them SFBARS President Peter Poullada, show their passion for these works of textile art. Peter Poullada’s collection focuses on pieces from the Middle Amu Darya region of what is now Uzbekistan.
