In a couple of days London will be the venue for an antique rug fair, London Antique Rug & Textile Fair, and several interesting auctions held by the city’s major auction houses Christies, Bonhams and Sothebys.

The London Antique Rug & Textile Fair, now in it’s fourth year, will hold their Opening Night for invited guests Thursday 3 April at 6 pm and will be open for the public from Friday-Sunday 4-6 April. For those who are unable to attend LARTA Online could be a window to the fair.

Following the LARTA Fair Christies will hold their special carpet spring sale ‘Fine Oriental Rugs & Carpets’ 8 April at their premises in King Street and Bonhams and Sothebys will hold their sales of Islamic art including carpets 8 April and 9 April 2014. And while you are in London a visit to the Victoria and Albert Museum in South Kensington to enjoy the display of the Ardabil Carpet could be an opportunity for the dedicated rug enthusiast.
