This September will be a great time for rug collectors to visit Europe. Start visiting Stuttgart and Nagel’s auction ‘Rugs & Carpets, Ethnographic Art‘ 9 September 2014. Then head for Milan and attend the 10th edition of Sartirana Textile Show 10-14 September in Sartirana Lomellina near Milan. The exhibitors include esteemed Italian and International antique rug dealers, the weather is fine and food and wine are excellent.

After that head for Vienna where  Wolfgang Matschek will hold Dorotheum’s auction ‘Oriental Carpets, Textiles and Tapestries‘ 16 September at 11.00 and continue your treasure hunt visiting Novomatic Forum, also in Vienna, where Udo Langauer, Austria Auction Company, will hold his special carpet auction ‘Fine Antique Oriental Rugs III’.

In case you arrive in Vienna the day before these carpet specialist auctions you should visit a small one day show 15 September 9.00-18.00  held by  James Cohen, Aaron Nejad and Owen Parry at the gallery of  Safran & Cie, Werdertorgasse 12.

While you are in Sartirana or in Vienna you will probably meet some of the attendees of the ICOC Vienna-Budapest Tour. The ICOC takes place in Vienna and Budapest 15-21 September 2014.
