Austria Auction Company’s next carpet sale ‘Fine Antique Oriental Rugs XVI including the Alfred Ruppenstein Collection” will take place 22 June 2019 at 4 pm. in Vienna. The preview will be open for the public 20-21 June 11 am.-6 pm. and on the day of the auction 22 June 11 am.-4.pm.

The auction includes 172 lots and most of them are from the Alfred Ruppenstein Collection of pre-Columbian artefacts and antique rugs. Alfred Ruppenstein acquired this private collection between 1960 and 1978 throughout Europe, at auctions and galleries and formed an outstanding private collection.

Lot 14. Cape with geometric motifs, Nazca, 200 – 600 A.D. Estimate: € 3000 – 4000
Lot 40. Textile fragment with star motif and birds. Inca, 1400-1550 A.D. So-called Chuquibamba style. Estimate: € 800 – 1200

Lot 86. Tabriz Senneh-Baff 16′ 5″ x 11′ 1″. Persia, ca. 1870. Estimate: € 20000 – 30000
Lot 84. Yomut Asmalyk 3′ 10″ x 2′ 6″. Turkmenistan, ca. 1870. Estimate: € 2000 – 3000
Lot 81. Bergama 5′ 6″ x 5′ 3″. Turkey, second half 19th century. Provenance: Alfred Ruppenstein, Munich. Estimate: € 2000 – 3000
