The Textile Museum will hold their 34th annual “Celebration of Textiles” 2-3 June 2012 in Washington DC. Festival hours are 10am – 4pm Saturday and 1pm – 5pm Sunday.
This two days textile festival is for all ages and includes demonstrations of rug restoration, loom weaving and embroidery together with a lot of other activities f.ex. fish printing on fabrics, sheep shearing and far more.
David Zahirpour (David Zahirpour Oriental Rugs), Woodmont Weavers and Baltimore Embroiderers’ Guild will take care of demonstrations of rug restoration, loom weaving and embroidery.
Cambodian folk dance and traditional Okinawa dancing will also be a part of the entertainment.
“Celebration of Textiles” is a part of the Museum Walk Weekend with free public entrance to participating museums.
