The Textile Museum will hold their 34th annual “Celebration of Textiles” 2-3 June 2012 in Washington DC. Festival hours are 10am – 4pm Saturday and 1pm – 5pm Sunday.
This two days textile festival is for all ages and includes demonstrations of rug restoration, loom weaving and embroidery together with a lot of other activities f.ex. fish printing on fabrics, sheep shearing and far more.
David Zahirpour (David Zahirpour Oriental Rugs),¬†Woodmont Weavers and¬†Baltimore Embroiderers’ Guild will take care of demonstrations of rug restoration, loom weaving and embroidery.
Cambodian folk dance and¬†traditional Okinawa dancing will also be a part of the entertainment.
“Celebration of Textiles” is a part of the Museum Walk Weekend with free public entrance to participating museums.
