Dr Denny is an authority on the art and architecture of the Islamic world with particular focus on the artistic traditions of the Ottoman Turks, Islamic carpets and textiles, and issues of economics and patronage in Islamic Art. Dr Denny has extensive research experience in the Middle East, has curated a number of international exhibitions , and published widely. Recent books include The Classical Tradition in Anatolian Carpets (2002) and Iznik: The Artistry of Turkish Ceramics (2004).
