A Symposium in Prague June 2013, an ICOC Congress in Baku Autumn 2013, an ICOC Tour Vienna Budapest 2014, and the ICOC 13 in North America 2015 has been announced by Peter Bichler, chair of the ICOC’s International Committee.
“The ICOC’s next destination will be Prague 20-22 June 2013″, says Peter Bichler to Jozan Magazine. “The close co-operation which we have been able to develop with the National Gallery has proven to be very fruitful as we will be able to stage the ICOC Symposium on the premises of the Convent of St. Agnes. This historic complex houses the Museum of Medieval Art of Bohemia and Central Europe and is considered to be a prime location within the cultural sphere of Prague” he continues.
The ICOC will arrange an exhibition of the most relevant carpets and textiles from all over the Czech Republic and the National Gallery will supplement this exhibition with their own collection of “Carpets in Paintings”.
Prague hosts the largest collection of Jewish textiles worldwide and private viewing will be arranged for a limited number of participants.
The total number of participants to the Symposium will be restricted to 150 attendees, so stay tuned for the moment, when the ICOC opens for registrations.
The Symposium will be followed by a post-conference tour to castles and museums in Moravia and Bohemia.
