A tribal rug from the village of Abadeh in South West Iran. The piece is typical of the distinctive style of Abadeh output, noted for fine weave. Also typical are the colour range and the tree of life design set in a cream-coloured stylised field which, in turn, is placed in an outer area of soft pink - all with a profusion of floral and geometric decorations, hall-marked by the four corner medallions.
White-base border gives extra definition and presence.
