The Bakhtiari are a major tribe in Western Iran with some sub-groups continuing to live as nomads to the present day. This is an outstanding example of the panelled garden design of compartmentalised trees and flowers. Composition is wool on cotton base. Dyes are vegetable-based which, with time, will have the effect of settling the colours further. Wool is soft, deep and lustrous.
