Description of Design and History :
A most unusual Caucasian village rug from the north eastern province of Shirvan . The field is divided into five vertical panels piled in cream, red and dark blue. The red panels contain a vertical series of angular boteh. The field is surrounded by a border in red with two guard borders in dark blue. A most attractive east Caucasian village rug of a highly unusual type, possible attributable to the rare Marasali group on the basis of its boteh design.
